Rheinhessen 'Graue Eminenz' white wine

From Burgundy it came to Switzerland and Hungary and probably from there to our regions in the 14th century. In Germany, Pinot Gris has regained increasing importance. In the past, the Grauer Burgunder was usually referred to with the synonym 'Ruländer'. Today, Pinot Gris is predominantly dry. It delivers quite good yields and high must weights.

The wine presents itself clearly without edges. On the nose it is very fresh, with a clear note of quince jelly and citrus fruits. On the palate, acidity is present but not pungent, rather restrained fruit of gooseberries with an overall very light, elegant impression despite the high alcohol content. The finish is medium length, fresh with light fruit.

The wine is very well suited as an accompaniment to lightly roasted poultry, shrimp or lobster in classic preparation, but it can also be a welcome accompaniment to asparagus dishes.
